Bush Base: White Power Right and The Unsolved Mystery of the Oklahoma City Bombing

Even in redacted form, these documents prove for the first time that FBI investigators were pursuing links between the Oklahoma City bombing and a series of 22 bank robberies carried out across the Midwest in 1993-1995 by a neo-Nazi group calling itself the Aryan Republican Army. Guthrie was a member of the ARA. So too were two members of a skinhead band from Philadelphia, Scott Stedeford and Kevin McCarthy, as well as an old friend of Guthrie's, Pete Langan, the brains behind the gang who also, curiously, happened to be a closet transvestite with a penchant for shaving his pubic hair and painting his toenails pink.

The order gives the vice president the same ability to classify intelligence as the president. By controlling classification, the vice president can in effect control intelligence and, through that, foreign policy.
Bush operates on the radical notion of the "unitary executive," that the president has inherent and limitless powers in his role as commander in chief, above the system of checks and balances. By his extraordinary order, he elevated Cheney to his level, an acknowledgment that the vice president was already the de facto executive in national security. Never before has any president diminished and divided his power in this manner. Now the unitary executive inherently includes the unitary vice president.

    Neo CON Amerikkka

The National Rifle Association, sensing trouble on its proposed bill in the state Legislature that would require employers to allow workers to have guns in their cars in company parking lots, offered some unusual compromises Wednesday:

    • Creating gun rooms at work and having workers check their weapons when they arrive.

    • Separate parking lots for gun owners.

    • Making it OK to carry in the car, as long as you tell your boss.

But those ''concessions'' were not well received by some lawmakers. So the bill's sponsors, Reps. Dennis Baxley, an Ocala Republican, and David Simmons, a Longwood Republican, decided to postpone a vote on the bill when it appeared the measure did not have the support of a majority of the House Judiciary Committee.

Even supporters of the idea of letting employees store guns in their cars questioned the logic of businesses allowing their employees to check their guns at the door when they come to work.

''I support the intent of the bill. I support the ability to protect Second Amendment rights,'' said Rep. Jeff Kottkamp, a Cape Coral Republican. ``The idea of encouraging people to take guns out of their car and take them into a building is absurd. It's not something we should be putting into law.''

    The Ongoing Cartoon Riots

Religions are political systems. That they claim divine
authority for their positions regarding distribution and application
of power moves me not one bit. I don't believe in divine
    authorization.

Those organized into political groups by religious ideas are
spectacularly dangerous to my way of life. As such they are all
equally subject to criticism by cartoon or otherwise. Why should they
receive special treatment? If they take part in the political fray,
then they take part in it and become subject to the rules of it.

The cartoons were not an attack on Islam. They were a comment on
Islamic Jihad. These are different systems.

It isn't as though any fundamentalist group leads some innocuous
existence. They are committed to bringing about legal and social
changes that I sure as hell don't want to occur. What they want isn't
so much about what they are allowed to do as it is about what the rest
of us are not allowed to do.

They desire to put limits on other people's personal behavior.
They organize to this end. They aren't sitting back praying for it.
    They are organized and active.

While I don't consider Islamic Jihad mainstream Islam, I see the
subservience and second class citizenship all Islam, and all
Christianity of which I'm aware, demands of women. To me these
religions are tools of colonization and need to be dealt with as such.

Certain people, like gay people, would have no right, not even to continue living, under some of these religious systems. I can't not notice that. I am not
about to refuse to respond to it out of a sense of political
correctness, any more than I refuse to respond to it when it is hurled
at me by a fundamentalist Christians.

I want the secular west to recognize all religion for what is is,
    political, and respond accordingly.

I can't help but think how progressive America shrugged and allowed
the right wing Juggernaut to take hold of the country for the last 25
to 50 years, while claiming it is okay, okay because everyone gets
their say, so if Nazi bastards want to march in the Jewish suburb
of skokie the police are sent to arrest the counter demonstrators, not the hate spewing fascists.

Well, yes. Everyone does get their say. Everyone. Including me and
other people who oppose the inherent intolerance of political groups
hiding behind the authority of god, and any other groups who
practice and promote intolerance and exclusivity from Zionist Jews to
    neoconservatives to KKK.

Planned, organized political aggression needs to be responded to
politically, not by humbly ignoring the fact that these people want
    you dead.

I practice tolerance. I treat everyone equally. I hold everyone to one
standard. That is as tolerant as it gets.

Again, I make almost no distinction between Islam and Christianity.
The fundamentalist groups of both are extremely violent, intolerant
and aggressive. The mainstream sects construct a world view I see
as dangerous to my rights and existence. From my vantage point it all
appears to be the same bunch of hooey.

I absolutely disagree with George Bush. I absolutely disagree with
oppression of any kind, including my own. If I could get the united
states out of Muslim countries I would. If I could stop the support
of Israel, I would. I do everything I can think of to achieve those
goals, but I am one little person.

I don't support discrimination against Muslims or Christians, and I
don't engage in it, but cartoons, whether they are of Jesus butt
fucking a nun or Mohammad with a bomb on his head, are the right of
secular society. They are no different than Boondocks cartoons. They
are a form of political discourse. While the images may be offensive
to believers, they are not offensive to all, and certainly not
offensive to me, and I think it is never stupid to assert your right of
free speech and criticism of fascist groups who are vying for power in
your society. Never. It is never politically smart.

Self censorship under such circumstances is a tactical error.

Of course, I don't think the rioting is over the cartoons, but over
the overarching policy of western governments toward Muslim
    countries, especially oil rich ones.

The cartoons were not aimed at mainstream Islam anyway. The average
Muslim is utterly appalled at the violence perpetrated in the name of
Allah. They may be offended by the cartoons, true, but they are just
as offended by the corrupt takeover of their religion.

Report: Humans Evolved to be peaceful

No wonder the Christian right rejects evolution! What they hold sacred is obedience and control, and violence if you don't comply. A view of our species as inherently peaceful ruins their whole game plan, their whole obsession with humans as dark, stained, born bad sons a bitches who need saving, a view they hold because, IMO, they are deeply uncomfortable with their own sexuality, their very human natures, and fundie religion panders to such neurosis.

    Anyway.

I'm glad to see this article, though the content here is somewhat troubling, because there was this Russian guy, Petr Kropotkin, who advocated cooperation as a primary mechanism of human evolution in his writing way back in the early 20th century.

This goes to what Amerikkka does best; remove context and sell weapons. And consume resources.

    Anyway.

Of course, Amerikkkan school children are not taught Kropotkin, or weren't when I was a school child, because he is viewed as a dirty commie by our fearless cold warriors in government, but are taught Darwin, incorrectly, as the incorrect use of Darwin justifies the oligarchic capitalism practiced by the Amerikkkan ruling class.

Perfectly reasonable ideas are often suppressed for perfectly political reasons. And for reasons of greed. BushCo teaches the world is flat, Muslims are all terrorist barbarians, Israel and Amerikkka are above the law, global warming isn't real, Iran is making a nuclear bomb, Iraq was a military threat, Hugo Chavez is a threat to Amerikkka and the feudal system is alive and well. For starters.

    Anyway.

I bumped into Kropotkin in a film class years and years ago. Yep. Someone mentioned him and I followed it up. Good for me. Krapotkin's ideas about people are implicit in this work.

Humans evolved to be peaceful, cooperative and social animals, not the predators modern mythology would have us believe, says an U.S. anthropologist.

Robert W. Sussman, of Washington University in St. Louis, goes against the prevailing view and argues that primates, including early humans, evolved not as hunters but as prey of many predators, including wild dogs and cats, hyenas, eagles and crocodiles.

"Our intelligence, cooperation and many other features we have as modern humans developed from our attempts to out-smart the predator," says Sussman, the author of, "Man the Hunted: Primates, Predators and Human Evolution."

The idea of "Man the Hunter" is the generally accepted paradigm of human evolution, says Sussman.

"It developed from a basic Judeo-Christian ideology of man being inherently evil, aggressive and a natural killer," Sussman told the American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting in St. Louis. "In fact, when you really examine the fossil and living non-human primate evidence, that is just not the case."

By the year 3000, the report says:

    # Global warming could have more than quadrupled, with temperature rises of as much as 15C, if we continue burning fossil fuels

    # Sea levels will still be rising at the end of this millennium and the total increase could reach 11.4 metres. This dwarfs estimates made by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that sea levels will rise by between 16cm and 69cm by the 2080s

    # Anything more than a two-metre rise would flood large areas of Bangladesh, Florida and many low-lying cities, and displace hundreds of millions of people

    # Abrupt climate changes are possible even after emissions cease because changes may be set in motion that cannot be stopped

    # The acidity of the oceans will fall significantly, posing a threat to marine organisms such as corals and plankton. That, in turn, would affect the whole marine ecosystem

    # The changes could be even greater than this if the climate turns out to be more sensitive to greenhouse gas emissions than the study assumes.

The solution, the team says, is to reduce emissions to zero by 2200.

The scientists said they do not yet understand the precise mechanism causing glaciers to flow and melt more rapidly, but they said the changes in Greenland were unambiguous -- and accelerating: In 1996, the amount of water produced by melting ice in Greenland was about 90 times the amount consumed by Los Angeles in a year. Last year, the melted ice amounted to 225 times the volume of water that city uses annually.

"We are witnessing enormous changes, and it will take some time before we understand how it happened, although it is clearly a result of warming around the glaciers," said Eric Rignot, a scientist at the California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

The Greenland study is the latest of several in recent months that have found evidence that rising temperatures are affecting not only Earth's ice sheets but also such things as plant and animal habitats, coral reefs' health, hurricane severity, droughts, and globe-girdling currents that drive regional climates.

Blood Chilling Irony of the Week Story - Hypocrites in Congress who Constantly thwart, suppress and squash Democracy for Money

call internet chieftains on the congressional carpet for doing the same thing.

I don't want Yahoo helping suppress dissent in China.
Nor Do I want Yahoo engaging in dissent suppression here by moving to a system of weighted email delivery, the first step in premium content sites, bet ya, which will slowly strangle the free flow of information on the internet.

I don't want Verizon giving the NSA information about my online activities when the NSA asks without a warrant, without the scrutiny of a judge, because the blood slurping, fanged fascists who run Bush believe executive power equals kingship, and have no respect whatsoever for the concept of checks and balances and the corporate creeps who supply their power base apparently agree.

I don't want google making a record of the contents of my computer or AOL censoring what mail it delivers to me.

But all these things are in various stages of underway and the public doesn't seem to understand that freedom of expression on the internet can be taken away from them. Easily.

Whether it is done in the name of corporate profit or not, making certain sites less accessible will have the same effect over time; censorship.

However, the irony of the whores in congress complaining to the internet lords for doing exactly what they do all day, every day, is so rich it leaves me nauseous.

Congress has given away our rights, signed on to illegal war, destroyed the independent media, allowed two fraudulent federal elections - and that is the short list - and all for money. The current congress, with a few awesome exceptions like Cynthia McKinney always choose money over democracy, and have done so with such frequency and rapidity we can't really een pretend Amerikkka is a democracy now.

    The Real Story

The white house press corps looks like a pack of fat Yorkie puppies charging a hungry hyena as they nip at Scotty about Cheney's hunting accident.

How absurd after the years of BushCo lies about everything, that the deeply comatose press comes to consciousness over this particular story. But, as we have recently seen, even folks in a persistent vegetative state can move and smile and mug for the camera.

In fact, the corporate press is missing, or maybe BURYING, the real story.

Here's Unca Dick hunting at the home of super connected, elite repiglikkkan lobbyist with family connections going back to Washington (at least) as far as the pallid, Rummy-Cheney-Haldamen-Erlichmen blocked heart of Nixon administration.

Here's a representative of Baker Botts and Lockheed Martin, a representative of Saudi oil and defense contracts and secret stuff, secret advocacy and lobbying and corporate silver greasing political palms, bobbing in the bubbling wake of the truth about Abramoff.

Here's the key, yet again, to understanding that the republican party is FLUSHING DEMOCRACY DOWN THE TOILET because it takes money from corporations to advocate for their interest against the interest of the people.

That's the real story. Another repiglikkkan fat cat spending the weekend with another repiglikkkan lobbyist. a lobbyist whose mom appointed Unca Dick to the CEO job Halliburton. You know Halliburton, the company making millions from screwing Iraq.

    And so on it goes.

Amy Goodman Interview with Robert Bryce

regarding Harry Whittington and Katharine Armstrong.
Katharine Armstrong is one of the proud owners of ownership society.

    a little excerpt

Well, you know, the other part that really is amazing here is just how small the world of Dick Cheney and Baker Botts and Halliburton is. Baker Botts is a very powerful Texas law firm. James A. Baker III is Of Counsel to the firm. It was founded by his great-grandfather. Baker Botts represents Halliburton. Baker Botts’s lawyer William Jeffress also represents “Scooter” Libby in the criminal charges in Plamegate scandal. Baker Botts is, you know, perhaps the law firm with the closest ties to the Bush administration, and here is Katharine Armstrong hosting Cheney and having lobbied the White House directly on behalf of Baker Botts. The part that’s the most, I think, is the most stunning is Armstrong nor Baker Botts will disclose for whom she was lobbying the White House for Baker Botts.

    Who is Katharine Armstrong?

A lobbyist for the underrepresented, poor downtrodden Lockheed Martin, among others and one of the repiglikkkan elite.

Guevara was the true marxist, he believed that all people were completely equal and felt that violent revolution was the only way to liberate a peoples. Many have condemed Che for being a bloody revolutionist. Truth be told he had no problem killing people. However I personally find it hard to muster up sympathy for Baptista supporters. They were those that had gotten rich off making the Cuban people slaves to American Corporations. Under Baptista an even bloodier leader, Cuba was basically whore island, run by the mob and us.

Che was a doctor, a brilliant tactical general, he taught scores of his body guards to read (he purposely requested illiterates to guard him, once he had taught them to read, they were replaced), he spoke out on his fears of Western Corporations and their explotation of the 3rd world like no one has done before or since. It's no wonder that the CIA was so afraid of him, especially when he brought his revolutionary ideas to the UN and Africa.

I love Che Guevara, he is a hero that believed that just because he was a general, and later treasurer of the Cuba economy he was not above manual labor. He felt that no politcal leaders should be above manual labor. While in Cuba, Che often worked the sugar fields, to no avail he tried to convince other powerful Cubans to do the same.

The federal government is on the verge of one of the biggest giveaways of oil and gas in American history, worth an estimated $7 billion over five years.

New projections, buried in the Interior Department's just-published budget plan, anticipate that the government will let companies pump about $65 billion worth of oil and natural gas from federal territory over the next five years without paying any royalties to the government.

Based on the administration figures, the government will give up more than $7 billion in payments between now and 2011. The companies are expected to get the largess, known as royalty relief, even though the administration assumes that oil prices will remain above $50 a barrel throughout that period.

Finance Ministers Karl-Heinz Grasser of Austria (L), Peer Steinbrueck of Germany (C) and Giulio Tremonti of Italy laugh during a photo call at a G8 Finance Ministers' meeting in Moscow February 11, 2006.

MOSCOW, Feb. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The finance ministers of the Group of Eight (G8) leading industrialized nations pledged action on Saturday to improve stability of the energy markets at a meeting in Moscow where energy security took center stage.

The finance ministers, who gathered in the Russian capital for a two-day meeting, reviewed the global energy outlook and agreed that "market mechanisms are vital to the effective functioning of the global energy system," they said in a statement issued after the meeting.

"In order to improve the smooth functioning and stability of markets, we agreed to take forward work on enhancing the global energy policy dialogue between oil producing and consuming countries and the private sector," the statement said.

Russia, which took over the rotating G8 presidency at the start of the new year, has declared energy security a priority during its term. The ministers welcomed the decision to focus on energy security for the G8 summit in St. Petersburg.

Russia is the world's second largest oil exporter after Saudi Arabia and also provides about a quarter of the natural gas consumed in the European Union. The country has seen its state coffers swell at a time when rising demand has doubled oil prices.

    Creationist Fascists Disrupt Classrooms

Former US Envoys Lobby for Saudis and China

Back in August 2002, a congressional delegation was traveling around Saudi Arabia, home to 15 of the 19 al Qaeda hijackers who less than a year earlier had launched the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States.
On one leg of the trip, in a big, white embassy van, Republican Rep. Mike Rogers of Michigan, a former FBI agent, turned to the U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Robert Jordan. He asked Jordan, in light of how the Sept. 11 attacks had revealed the Saudis' role in nurturing al Qaeda-connected charities and religious schools, whether Jordan, a big-time Houston oil and gas lawyer, would be the first U.S. ambassador to not go to work for the Saudis after leaving his post.
Jordan, who had George W. Bush as a client before he went to the White House, considered Rogers' question for a moment, and then politely declined to "take the pledge," according to a witness who recalled the episode.

Not that it mattered: Jordan's company, Baker Botts LLP -- that would be James Baker, secretary of state in the first Bush administration and lawyer for the second Bush in the 2000 Florida election deadlock -- already had a host of business clients in the royal kingdom, with offices in Riyadh and Dubai.

In any event, Jordan in 2003 joined the long list of U.S. ambassadors and other former American officials working directly or indirectly for the Saudi royal family. Rogers recently introduced a bill that would bar federal employees from representing foreign governments for four years after they leave public service. Also last week, the House overwhelmingly approved a resolution (HRes648) that sharply curtails lobbyists by foreign agents on the House floor.
Actually, it would be big news if a senior U.S. diplomat in the Middle East did not accept the warm embrace of the Saudis or other despots upon leaving the region. They are sprinkled all over Washington, particularly in such well-known Saudi-supported think tanks as the Middle East Institute. Two former American ambassadors to Saudi Arabia lead the institute -- Wyche Fowler Jr., chairman, and Edward Walker, president. Former ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and deputy assistant secretary for the Near East David Mack is the institute's vice president. Also at the institute is Richard Parker, former ambassador to Algeria, Lebanon, and Morocco, and Michael Sterner, former ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and deputy assistant secretary of Near Eastern Affairs.

Coulter's appearance at the event was not, of course, a surprise; to the contrary, it was touted as an attraction beforehand by the event organizers. The remarks she made at the CPAC event have now been well-documented, and include unsurprising gems such as: ""I think our motto should be post-9-11, 'raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences" and "If we find out someone [referring to a terrorist] is going to attack the Supreme Court next week, can't we tell Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalito?"

According to one of her blogging fans in attendance, 5,000 "conservatives" reverently sat there and listened to her and did nothing to indicate disapproval. To the contrary, her urging of violence against "ragheads" specifically "prompted a boisterous ovation." RightWingNutHouse reports that her speech was "well received by the audience."
