The number of people in the United States turning to soup kitchens and food banks for assistance appears to be growing.
America's Second Harvest, the country's largest network for food distribution, found in its first major survey since 2001 that 25 million people depend on its members for help, the Christian Science Monitor reported. That's up 8 percent in four years.
