Oil prices drop

Crude oil prices fell Thursday, a day after jumping more than US$2 a barrel in response to news of falling U.S. inventories.

OPEC's steps to cut production and attacks by Nigerian villagers on oil facilities had contributed to the increase. On Thursday, villagers who took over three Shell oil platforms agreed to end their siege and allow operations to resume.
