    Who's a Threat?

The Iranians don't have nuclear weapons, though I'm sure they're eager to acquire them after witnessing the disparate treatment the world "super" power dishes out to those who do and those who don't.

On the other hand, Israel has a proven record of endless, unprovoked aggression and an arsenal of nuclear weapons.

The United States has interfered in Iran for decades. The United States helped put Ahmadinejad in power by continually threatening Iran thereby pushing their frightened fundamentalists to support a tough talking fundamentalist creep government - much in the same way fear was used to get republikkkans in office in the US.

Iran's hatred of the west is no greater than the west's hatred of Iran, though the MSM says it is, especially when one considers Israel the west, as I do. And when one considers the level of threat offered by Iran versus that of the threat offered by Israel or the US.

I mean, who's been doing the invading, attacking, conspiring, deliberate destabilizing, overthrowing and ethnic cleansing all these many years?

The United States overthrew the democratically elected government in Iran in 1953, replaced it with the shah, a thug, and savak, a CIA secret police force set up to terrorize the populace and keep democracy out of Iran, because the west felt ENTITLED to control Iran's oil.

Some current representatives of the United States negotiated with Iran under the table, before they were official government, to hold American hostages longer so they could win the 1980 election, all the while decrying Iranians in public.(October Surprise)

The United States armed Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction so he could use them on Iran. When he used them on the Kurds no one got excited or tried to disarm him because it was too important he continually attack Iran and keep the region in chaos. Donald Rumsfeld shook hands with him and grinned that seriual killer's scay grin he has.

The Untied States made secret arms deal with Iran in the eighties to get money so the right wing extremists who hijacked the American government then could fund right wing murdering extremist death squads in central America.
That is also starting to backfire now, BTW and so covert operators are all over Central and south America causing problems again.

The United States supports, funds and arms the government of Israel which hates Iran and the other Arab states, routinely violates international law, commits atrocities on a daily basis and triggered this current state of affairs by targeting civilians in Gaza, after their supposed withdrawal from Gaza (while they continue to expand west bank settlements).

Since the US defines national security as democracy and democracy as free market capitalism, free trade (which isn't free), globalization, privatization - all of which means no competition except for between a handful of multinational corporations, many of whom are "defense" contractors and oil conglomerates, who set the rules to suit their interests, and allow no meaningful regulation to protect the environment or workers, and since they have repeatedly stated a desire to over throw the government in Iran, have successfully done exactly that in the past and want to lay hands on Iran's rich economy, I have to disagree emphatically that Iran is the major threat in the area.

Since the people running the US government put it in writing 10 years ago that the US needs to take over in Iraq and Iran and have pursued that idea with relentless force since coming to power, since off the record sources have repeatedly told alternative press the plans are made to bomb Iran, I have to think the US is a bigger threat

The united states constitutes the biggest threat to middle east and world peace. Israel also constitutes an enormous threat. The relationship between the 2 further constitute an enormous threat. Pakistan, a nuclear capable country that is probably harboring Bin Laden and has been selling nuclear arms technology around the world, is our friend and ally, and they are more likely to trigger a nuclear war than Iran. Though to hear the corproate media tell it, Iran is ready to go.

The racist Zionist Israelis who control the government in Israel hate Arabs, look down upon Arabs, feel entitled to take what belongs to Arabs and hate and fear Iran, because Iran isn't the unarmed Palestinians. Iran is the outcome of the Persian empire. Israel can't do to Iran what it has done to Palestine without Amerikkkan help.

And American troops and big American military bases are already conveniently located in Iraq right next door, and in Afghanistan, right next door.

Here's a quote to brighten your day as well as supply a little historical context
"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population."
-- David Ben-Gurion first primer minster of Israel, May 1948

I'd say that sets the table pretty well for what has happened all over the oil rich middle east since 1948.

The sport of the week among neocons - be they amerikkkan or Israeli - is blaming Iran and Syria for Hezbollah. I turned on the TV this morning just to see.
I can't stand to watch corporate media, you know, but I wanted to see and sure enough there's mealy mouthed, closet case, right wing extremist, white house counsel Dan Bartlett saying REPEATEDLY in his relatively short time on camera that Iran and Syria are responsible. over and over.. No proof was offered.
And if proof was it'd be about as reliable as the proof Iraq had aluminum tubes for nuclear weapons.
I planned to count the number of times he blamed Iran but I was not fully awake, am sick and lost count.

Israel has been badgering Gaza for weeks (months, years, decades), killing and maiming civilians then screaming about militant terrorists threatening Israel. Lebanon is full of Palestinian refugees by the way. It has been for DECADES, every since the Palestinians had to flee for their lives when Israel took their country over. But this name calling and accusation is meaningless.

Israel is the aggressor in the ongoing regional conflcit. And Israeli is propped up by the US, also an unchecked aggressor under the direction of the Wolfowoitz doctrine, renamed the Bush Doctrine which states that those in charge can attack anyone they want to for any reason they deem necessary to "National Security."

By the way, people affiliated with the Bush administration have publicly stated that a nuclear war is a winnable war. Whereas the Iranians know if they bomb anyone they will be smashed to smithereens by our trillion dollar military.
