BP plans $37 billion energy investment in US

How wonderful for BP to have cooperation from a more than friendly government, partnership really, who will encourage them to go about their business completely untroubled by regulation and not at all accountable for environmental damage or social injustice in which oil companies specialize.

How nice for this energy conglomerates who owns every step of process from ground to pump, so pays 14 to 21 bucks a barrel, maybe, to get their oil out of the ground, to be able to trade it at plus 70 a barrel with the eager beaver help of Washington.

Don't worry. American taxpayers will pay to build refineries for private business soon too, one way or another. The oil companies have been pushing for that and showed their muscle to demand more public resources during the post Katrina gas gauging. It was so blatant the royal scam in Washington held mock hearings in which compulsive liar Arlen Specter decided that oil company heads were so honest, devoted to the public good and exemplary angels in their dealings, they didn't need to be sworn in to answer questions.
    Democracy Inaction. Repiglikkkan governance.

These enormous resources need to be utilized to develop and mass produce alternate energy sources. Instead, it is now s profitable to extract oil that was too expensive to extract before, because the price has been artificially driven so high, that all the corporate investment will further the petro cycle of environmental, social and economic destruction.

In the meantime, petro chemical pollution will continue to melt polar caps, and the permafrost, releasing more environmentally destructive methane gas into the already compromised atmosphere, because sociopaths like Dick Cheney think they can make more money drilling in the polar regions once that ice is gone! Yep, delusional.

And the freedom and liberty and innovation of a thriving middle class can die from the economic pressure of soaring energy casts, for profit for a few, and an economy that favors corporations over people every step of the way.
