L-3 profit rises on aerospace, offense sales

L-3 reported quarterly profit of $207 million, or $1.63 per share, compared with $174 million, or $1.37 per share, in the year-ago quarter. That beat Wall Street's average forecast of $1.61 per share, according to Reuters Estimates.

Sales rose 12 percent to $3.8 billion, ahead of analysts' average forecast of $3.6 billion.

The New York-based company raised its full-year profit forecast to $6.48 to $6.62 per share from its previous forecast of $6.41 to $6.55 per share.
