Pompous Litle Prick Kevin Martin of the FCC GOes against the wishes of public and senate
Martin's plan, presented Nov. 13, has been criticized by parties on both sides of the issue. Tribune Co., News Corp. and other newspaper owners say it doesn't go far enough while consumer groups such as the Consumers Union say it threatens the diversity of local news sources.
Mary Diamond, an FCC spokeswoman, said yesterday that the agency had no comment on the senators' letter. The FCC is scheduled today to begin the meeting in Washington at 10:30 a.m.
