Feds Counted Big Media Companies as Small Business Contractors
WASHINGTON (AP) - The nation's highest circulation newspaper and other large news organizations have been counted by the government as small businesses for contracting purposes.
A congressional investigation shows McLean-based USA Today International, The New York Times, The Associated Press and Arlington-based Public Broadcasting Service, among others, were treated as small businesses. Such designations inflate the Bush administration's record of help to small companies.
