I've never shared the Calvinist craziness that the poor are bad, though large segments of America does embrace this idea. People seem to be shocked that this homeless man isn't a thief. A cursory glance at modern America would indicate the thieves are mostly wealthy and often in politics, either holding office or buying those who do.
