    Was the 2004 Election Stolen?

I have enormous respect for Kennedy. He's done great work on behalf of the environment and poor people. His name associated with this project may bring it to the attention of a few more people. Rolling Stone is fairly main stream, judging by the number of mindless, pretentious suburbanites who read it faithfully. I mean, this is not The Nation or Mother Jones or In These Times or Noam Chomsky, let alone Arundhati Roy or Democracy Now, news outlets that cause repiglikkkans to emit smoke and sparks at their mere mention.

Perhaps people who have been oblivious to what happened will read the article and feel alarmed and pressure their representatives in Washington for a full investigation.

Privatization of voting (and military service) need to be stopped immediately. For starters.

I'm deeply worried about the upcoming midterm elections. The same people are running them on the same equipment as those who ran and fixed the 04 election.

In a fair election, the despised and corrupt republicans should lose the house without any sweat. Even some hard core republican districts in Illinois are backing democrats. And I can see the possibility of repiglikkkans losing control of the senate too. But with the country voting on Diebold and ES&S, and voting inside a frame work established, controlled and run by right wing extremists who have successfully stolen the last 2 federal elections...I'm nervous.

When you step back and realize 2 fraudulent elections have occurred, elections which installed a front man, a fucking bozo who does what he's told to do by people who have no loyalty whatsoever to this country (Darth Cheney, for example) or the way of life we were all taught we'd live, expected to live as Americans - a certain amount of freedom and privacy and say so in government and honesty and accountability in government - and freedom from being part of a militaristic and aggressor nation - as well as certain kinds of federal support for things, things like repairing your city when it is destroyed by a hurricane and broken levees, not armed mercenaries prowling the streets of an American city and running displaced persons camps there with force, it is like stepping into the pages of a science fiction novel for me. It is very hard to get close to this information in a total way.

While I've believed, since it happened, that the 04 election was fixed, there is still a current of disbelief coursing through me, a failure to fully integrate this knowledge, a kind of political post traumatic shock, if you will, as I watch absolutely horrified at what the government is doing. How is it that the other party and the media, the supposed 4th estate, the watch dog, allowed the republicans to do this?

Since I'm fairly well informed and still automatically somewhat distance this information, how might those who are not informed at all respond?
That's a big question for me. This is why I carp about the media all the time. Why don't they inform us? Why doesn't Jonathan Klein go on a cruise to Aruba with Glen Beck and Nancy Grace - maybe they can have a three way sex thing. Beck wants it in the ass and Nancy Grace is just the woman to give it to him - and let the journalists INFORM us?

This vote fraud story has made endless rounds at all levels of alt media since November 04. In fact, some people, like Brad Blog, have been relentless in their coverage. I love that guy. I feel like he feels like I do. But we all saw what happened to Dan Rather, didn't we? And it is all tied to the very (crumbling, rancid, benefiting a very few and fewer each day) structure of the economy at this point, I know, I know. I do know how it works.

BTW, Mary Mapes, the woman who produced the segment that got Dan Rather fired by Sumner Redstone because he didn't want Bush using the FCC to hassle him, wrote a book. I haven't read it but it is on my list.

The GOP is really going after Conyers now. I think his seat is safe, but the attacks are ferocious. IMO a lot of their eagerness to get rid of him has to do with his investigation into the election. If Conyers hadn't done an investigation there wouldn't have been one. Conyers is one of the few people in Congress who are engaged in a fight for democracy.

Everything in 04, and 2000 too, points to massive fraud and massive cover up. Where is the MSM? This stuff is quite compelling, yet no mention of it on Nightly news or any of the others.

I fear much of the world believes America has gone crazy, that all of us support the tyranny and deceit boiling in Washington, since we returned the mountain biking frat boy and his flying monkeys to office and no one protested our fraudulent elections. Much of the world sees Americans as morally compromised, stupid and scanning the horizon for the next someone to rape and kill. Excusing the homicides in Haditha, as well as the failure to prosecute those in charge at abu Gharib enhance that perception. The kidnappings, world wide torture sites, Guantanamo Bay prison camp, refusal to comply with treaties or live up to international obligations and responsibilities make all America look crazy, vicious and irresponsible. A narrative told with such words leaves little room for discussion of our fixed elections or any discussion of the very real processes and political problems that are ongoing here and elsewhere. We are just the biggest, most armed, most consumptive aggressive monster of empire on the planet.

This tumble into fascism really began with the 80 election, which I voted in, (Carter) of course, being 22 at the time. That was fixed with the assistance of Bush the elder who cut a dirty deal, one that amounted to treason, with the Iranians. Like Junior, RayGun was a front man, though with much higher native intelligence than the chimp in chief. He just had Alzheimers.
