Kaiser Permanente's Kidney Program Probed
The same "health care" organization that brought you dumping of homeless patients out on skid row.
Nothing health caring about them. You're taking your life in your hands by assuming there is. If this not for profit has to kill you to make a profit, apparently they don't have a problem doing so.
Kaiser Permanente, 46 million uninsured - a number which doesn't include Medicaid or Medicare insurance, so actually roughly one third of our citizens are not covered at all under the private plans promoted by health conglomerate and insurance lobbyists who run the government by proxy - and wall eyed, kitten killer with terminal satyriasis, Bill Frist, are merely 3 reasons of thousands why health care should not be privately owned and should be advanced to a public, single payer system now.
We have the most costly health care in the world, yet it is far from the best. (28th in the world in infant mortality, even though the raving sexists loonies who oppose a woman's right to choose abortion invariably vote for polices that guarantee more death for babies and children once they're born) The World health Organization ranks the US 15th of 25 industrialized nations, maybe lower now, my stats are a couple of years old, YET WE PAY TOP DOLLAR.
SAN FRANCISCO -- State regulators are investigating whether the nation's largest not-for-profit managed-care provider mishandled a vast new kidney transplant program and put hundreds of patients at risk, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Managed Health Care said Friday.
Kaiser Permanente failed to hold basic discussions with regulators on how to properly transfer up to 1,500 of its kidney patients from other programs to its new transplant center in San Francisco in 2004, the Los Angeles Times reported this week. Problems with the transplant program were first reported by San Francisco's KPIX-TV on Tuesday.
