CONCORD, N.H. -- A former Republican National Committee official convicted in a phone-jamming scheme designed to keep New Hampshire Democrats from voting in 2002 is facing up to seven years in prison when he goes before a judge for sentencing.
James Tobin of Bangor, Maine, was scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday. He was found guilty in December on two telephone harassment charges also faces up to a $500,000 fine. His lawyers have asked for a new trial.
