A slight rerun

Nothing more threatening to the established religious order than people who refuse to surrender their sexuality, whatever it is, to god the father.

Wars of choice and colonization, wide spread starvation, environmental destruction, unchecked epidemics, genocide and all the other suffering around the world never offend "holy" men as much as failure to submit to their control.
