Retired Supreme Court Justice hits attacks on courts and warns of dictatorship

    [...]
And then she took aim at former House GOP leader Tom DeLay. She didn't name him, but she quoted his attacks on the courts at a meeting of the conservative Christian group Justice Sunday last year when DeLay took out after the courts for rulings on abortions, prayer and the Terri Schiavo case. This, said O'Connor, was after the federal courts had applied Congress onetime only statute about Schiavo as it was written. Not, said O'Connor, as the congressman might have wished it were written. This response to this flagrant display of judicial restraint, said O'Connor, her voice dripping with sarcasm, was that the congressman blasted the courts.
    [...]

It's hard to believe she's serious after she voted to install that beady eyed, vacation-boy dick brain in the oval office, voting against the oft worshiped state's rights about which repuglikkkans love to snort, and knowing the loathsome son of a bitch lost the election.
What did she think he was going to do? I knew he'd destroy the court system as fast as possible. Didn't she? Did she not look at his record in Texas? Was she unaware of the caliber of his associates?
There has been a tendency to remake O'Connor in recent years. As she stands among the latest generations of republikkkan scum who people Washington, she does look pretty good. But when you're standing in copious piles of poop, how can you not tower?
I'm glad she's speaking out, but I can't forget her part in destroying my country.
