    Poll finds healthcare top worry

A Gallup poll finds that the affordability and availability of healthcare is the top concern of Democrats, Independents and Republicans.

But 78 percent of respondents who identified themselves as Democrats said they worried about healthcare, compared to 66 percent of Independents and 57 percent of Republicans.

In fact, Democrats worry more about almost everything although on some issues, like Social Security and energy use, the differences are much smaller. Republicans worry more about the possibility of terrorist attacks with 52 percent compared to 47 percent of Democrats naming that as a major concern. Independents are less concerned than either with only 39 percent saying it is a major worry.

Republicans also worry more about illegal immigration (49 percent) compared to 42 percent of Democrats.

In addition to healthcare, the economy, hunger and homelessness, the environment and unemployment were all issues where there is a large worry gap between Democrats and Republicans.

Yeah, the republicans who live in rural areas of the country are worried about terrorists attacks. They actually think Arab terrorists are going to invade Harrisburg and Johnston City, Illinois and blow them up in blood guzzling attack for Allah.
    That's FOX news for ya.
And perhaps that is a nervous projection, an unconscious recognition, that driving a vehicle that gets 5 miles per gallon might contribute to the misery of people in the middle east.
Nah, they don't get that at all. And if they do, they certainly don't care.

As to health care, the overwhelming majority of Americans say in poll after poll that they want universal national health care coverage.

It is a measure of how unresponsive government is, a stark statement of fact that government is in the employ of corporations, not the people, that not only do we not get national health care even though we want it and spend enough health care dollars already to fund it, the insurance system is now being further privatized.
