The Oscars
What a scam the oscars are. No wonder fewer people watch them every year.
Brokeback Mountain was a much better film than Crash. I loved Crash, by the way, but Brokeback was simply a much better film.
Reese witherfork is nothing but annoying, ever.
I enjoyed Walk the Line, but that is because I like Johnny Cash and am fascinated by how weird Joaquin Phoenix is.
Anyway, Felicity Huffman should have won the best actor in the lead actress category. She was so much better than that Reese Witherladle. But Hollywood wants to market Reese to the red state types I fear.
I'm a big George Clooney fan these days, now that he has emerged as a political film maker, but Matt Dillon's performance in crash was just as good and so was Jake Gyllenhall's in Brokeback.
And Heath Ledger left Philip Seymour Hoffman's fagged out Truman Capote imitation in he dust. I don't see why the hullabaloo over that acting job. I can imitate Capote that well myself.
They also should have given a special award to Eric Bana's hair in Munich. It was tremendous.
How annoying.
I bet they count the votes with Diebold equipment.
My favorite Oscar speeches were George Cloony's and Ang Lee's and some of the documentary guys.
The Oscars disappoint, but I do love movies.
