I am running for Congress for many reasons, one of which is because our U.S. Constitution is under assault from both within and without our nation by more forces than just activist judges who isogetically interpret the Constitution without adequately responsible principles of hermeneutics.

One of the best questions you can ask a congressional candidate is not how they stand on any one issue. It's how they interpret the Constitution. Ask them what their principles of hermeneutics are. I'm an original intent, strict constructionist. Any other method, in my view, turns your rights into a lottery of judicial opinion that has turned the Supreme Court into a continual constitutional convention.

It appears to me that the winds of strife are once again about to be unleashed upon the world, and it would not surprise me if anti-semitism (a misphrase since Arabs are also 'Semites') is one route that we will take from here to there on a road fuled by one more wanna-be Platonic Republic Guardian, who, in fact, is simply another misguided charismatic whose ride to power is fueld by his undisciplined bipolar genius upon the backs of destroyed lives whose cannon fodder resulted from the Machiavellian theory of "it's better to be feared than loved."

No wonder the country is such a wreck. Look at the mentality of Tony Zirkle. His views are very similar to so many who run for office, especially republikkkans.

Zirkle's website is not a discussion of what he wants to do as a congressman, but a snot-nosed attack on the very way of life that is American.

It is an attack on freedom and tolerance, a reactionary shout out for the good old days of slavery and women in virtual chains, a stomp on the utterly essential to democracy idea of checks and balances, a hissing dismissal of the multiculturalism that makes America great and a generally offensive, smug, inaccurate hate treatise.

What's really scary is this kind of talk can get him elected in Indiana.

With such a small percentage of people even bothering to vote, a self intoxicated hate monger like this, misspellings in his web site and all, can pull those very disturbed individuals not unlike himself, people who believe other people's views and lives and feelings and experience are meaningless, and get their vote.

The fundamentalist monotheists who spend their lives in dark closets condemning out gay people, the racists, classists, elitists and cheats who suffer from narcissistic disorders, and the crowd of people who are simply intellectually lacking, have no imagination and no vision, come out for these kinds of candidates.
And barring such a voter response, he can use repiglikkkan owned and operated Diebold to get in.

Congress and the senate are FULL Of this kind of lunatic fringe.

And we put them there.
Either because we are too busy to find out who they are or we are too tired or apathetic to vote or knock on doors, or because we are so morally misguided, so enthralled with power and wielding it over others, we think who goes to bed with whom is our business and their sex lives are more important than the corporations who run our government pillaging the middle east, exploiting and murdering its people, while selling us all to the devil of fossil fuels, environmental collapse and fascism. Priorities are very fucked up in America. This candidacy is a fine example of everything that s wrong with my country.
