Remember when snide, squealing, sneering, shameless lying repiglikkkan shills were howling throughout the media that incorrigible turd sniffer George Bush had done nothing about the Katrina emergency simply because democrat governor Blanco hadn't asked for federal help?

And even though she did ask, and here's the documentation on its way to that felony farm we call the United States Congress, do you think it will be reviewed by an independent commission that is gathering this information in order to create an enhanced understanding of the disaster so they can better protect and preserve the lives and liberties of people of the US better in the future?
HELL NO.
It is all about dodging blame.
If I know what went wrong, they certainly know what wrong.

What went wrong is this. The right wing lurch of the government of this country that has been underway since Poppy Bush help rig the 1980 elections, or before, and get senile dribbling old fool Ronald Reagan elected, has slowly dismantled social programs and infrastructure, bulldozed the checks and balances, destroyed independent media and finally weakened the centralized federal response to everything and anything.
If it weren't so early I could make an argument that the same oligarchic psychopathic arrangement of distribution of wealth helped bring 9/11 on us.

But congress, on both sides of the aisle, is full of right wing, pro-corporate, soulless, money grubbing, power grabbing vermin who make me want to PUKE, other than a few very dedicated public servants like those in the black congressional caucus and Bernie Sanders and a couple of others from time to time.

The disaster in NOLA is ONGOING. People are still suffering. There is NO MEANINGFUL public discourse on how and why this happened and the suffering are not receiving the federal help that is the promise of our arrangement in Amerikkka. The zombie corporate TV media is writing the NOLA story and, as usual, telling the tale so far from the truth, so piecemeal and slanted, the average person has no idea what's happening.
