American Justice
Scalia, a gift to the country from the howling hyenas of the RayGun administration, is a psychotic, fascist jack off.
He's the one, back before I was blogging GOP crimes against nature, that spoke to a room full of Jews in a New York synagogue, telling them they'd be better off living in a Christian state.
That was one of his good days. He has long a track record of equally abhorrent behavior.
Hard to believe such a head case is installed on the SCOTUS interpreting the laws of the country and conveniently assisting in appointing homicidal idiots to the presidency. Scalia, like Clare Thomas, clearly has an activist, Christianoid, right wing-fascist agenda and never should have been appointed, but the GOP cares about nothing but money.
This is a very cruel finding.
Of course the cost of attending college has gone up by some astronomical mutiplier, much higher than the rate of inflation. Could that be contributing to the debt load, do ya think?
It's just more of the class war.
In a concurring opinion, Justice Antonin Scalia said that Congress "unambiguously authorized, without exception, the collection of 10-year-old student loan debt ... in doing so, it flatly contracted and thereby effectively repealed part of the Social Security Act."
He complained that Congress in passing laws often wrongly claims they these acts cannot be changed in the future. Such an attempt "does no favor to the members of Congress, and to those who assist in drafting their legislation," Scalia wrote.
Groups like the AARP and the National Consumer Law Center had urged the court to safeguard Social Security benefits in the Lockhart case, arguing they "are critical in preserving a measure of financial independence for older and disabled workers."
